The Jmc Retro World Cup USA 2014 was a tournament that took place in the USA on Pro Evolution Soccer 6. The tournament started on May 11th, and concluded on December 21st 2014 over a period of 8 months.
The teams that qualified were the countries that watched JCA1009's channel the most. Argentina, the four time world champions at the jmc World Cup, won the tournament by beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1 in the final. Host nation the USA finished in 3rd place with Algeria finishing 4th place. Current jmc world cup host Serbia and former jmc world cup hosts Japan were both eliminated at the group stage. Japan 2012 winners Italy were eliminated in the quarter final after a penalty shootout with the host nation USA. Japan 2012 runners-up Portugal were eliminated in the round of 16.
Argentina's victory was their best result in a jmc tournament since their defeat in Serbia a few months earlier to Tunisia (5-1).
Unlike the JMC World Cup or other of its tournaments, the 32 participating nations were selected on a online rating basis, where the countries with most views on JMC TV were granted a spot in the tournament. United States, the host, is automatically qualified regardless of its ratings.
Europe (19): Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, Wales.
South America (4): Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia.
Asia (4): Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam.
North America (3): Canada, Mexico, United States (hosts).
Africa (2): Algeria, Morocco.
Venues[]
In April 2014, JMC TV hosted a poll in order to choose the definitive list of stadiums that will host the Retro World Cup, from an original list of 29 selectable venues throughout the entire country. The results showed a final list of 13 stadiums that were used during the tournament.[1]
